When a loved one passes away, it’s always a difficult and emotional time. To further complicate things, someone inevitably has to administer the estate, including dealing with all assets, accounts and any debts outstanding at the time of their death.
We are here to help and are happy to answer any queries you may have. We offer a range of services to assist those who have been appointed as executors or administrators of the estate.
If the person did not leave a valid Will, the process is different but our experienced team can still advise and assist in these circumstances.
Probate
Probate is the legal process for dealing with a person’s assets, belongings, debts and other wishes once they have passed away.
If someone owned a property, then invariably a Grant of Probate will be required in order to deal with their Estate.
Even if the person didn’t own a house, Probate is often still required to deal with any bank accounts, savings or investments that they may have had.
Probate can be a difficult and time consuming process. It not only requires preparing an Oath to be sworn before an independent solicitor but also requires complex paperwork to be prepared.
You Are In Safe Hands
As a specialist legal services practice, Goodwills Legal Services Ltd is experienced in dealing with Probate and estate administration in a timely and professional manner. We have an experienced team who will ensure everything is completed correctly and with a minimum of hassle. Our fees are always very competitive and agreed in advance.
How We Can Help
We offer a range of different services, as follows:
A simple Grant of Probate service, which will allow you, as an Executor, to sell your loved one’s home and deal with their estate in accordance with their Will. We are also able to deal with the sale of the property, if you wish us to do so.
A Grant of Probate and Assent service, which will allow you to transfer the Property into the beneficiaries' names.
A Full Estate Administration service.
When we carry out a Full Estate Administration, we write to all account and asset holders, everyone to whom the person owed liabilities and to HMRC and DWP. Once we have established the relevant figures, we will prepare the Grant of Probate and Inheritance Tax paperwork on your behalf. Finally, once the Grant has been obtained, we will gather in all of the deceased’s assets and pay off any liabilities, before distribution of the Estate to the end beneficiaries.
We can tailor an individual package of support to meet your specific circumstances, needs and wishes.
